"The most notable catalyst for primary language loss must be the need for “social integration”. As soon as a child enters the confines of education, they must learn to follow the rules of those institutions, which includes rules of conduct, behavior, discipline, and of course, language and communication. English, then, naturally becomes the prerequisite for inclusion while the child’s primary language acts as a perceived barrier to being included. Children with limited proficiency in English could find themselves constantly being singled out, bullied, and
